Many people think catching up with neighbors over the back fence is pure nostalgia. But in Orchard Ridge, it's a reality. Whether it's a real fence or a virtual one, Orchard Ridge residents stay in touch with one another.

Orchard Ridge is a wonderful venue to learn about everything from sightings of hawks, deer and foxes; to recommendations for handymen and other business people; to the occasional offer of sporting event tickets or items that are no longer needed (or a request for items
you may want).

To visit our Neighbor-to-Neighbor forum, click the Neighbor-to-Neighbor link at the top of this page. Follow the instructions there for creating a user name and password. Then click "Categories" and choose either:

Announcements
Handyman/Painter/Etc. Referrals
Buy/Sell/Give/Borrow
Wildlife Alert

You'll see discussion topics there. You can post on an existing discussion or create a new one. You can also choose to follow a particular discussion via e-mail. If, for instance, you post a request for names of painters, look in the upper right corner of that page and click "E-mail Subscription Disabled" - and it will enable your subscription. When someone posts a message, you'll receive an e-mail notification. **You must follow this procedure for EACH discussion you're interested in. We'll also keep track of posts and send an e-mail to the main Yahoo list directing people to answer on the Neighbor-to-Neighbor forum. Questions? Contact Diane Harrington (dianebh@sbcglobal.net).

Want to join our Yahoo CrimeWatch E-mail list? Yep, we still have our Yahoo CrimeWatch e-mail list. It alerts residents to any crimes we know of in the neighborhood – and it's also a place to share concerns about any suspicious activity

To receive these e-mails, send a note to orchardridgemadison_messages-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. You'll need to sign up for a free Yahoo account (with a name and password you choose).

You'll be able to elect to receive e-mail as messages are posted or in once-a-day digest form – or you can opt to just check posts at your leisure directly on our Yahoo message board.

If at any time you want to be removed from the list, all you have to do is ask.
Problems? Contact Becky Jenn (thejenns@tds.net).
